Tri Delta Triple Play

My sorority's philanthropy is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. One of our big philanthropic events during the spring semester is a softball and cheer competition called Tri Delta Triple Play. The first night is the cheer competition. That is when all of the other sororities compete and do a cheer for everyone. This year we also got all of the fraternities involved in the cheer competition. Phi Mu won for the sororities and Pi Kappa Phi won for the fraternities.

The rest of the week is devoted to the softball tournament. There are two days worth of games and it is one round elimination. Everyone loves our philanthropy event because we are all so competitive. We get lots of sponsors from the community as well as stories in the school newspaper and yearbook. During the games, we draw raffle prizes. This year the grand prize was a weekend trip for two to Perdido Key. After two days of intense softball, Phi Mu won for sororities and Pike won for fraternities.

Another way we raise money for the event is by having a Caliente Night. A portion of all the proceeds from that day go to St. Jude. This year we raised over $350 just from Caliente. Click here to check out Caliente and why we all love it so much!
